knowledge, experience, and performance in the newly emerging satellite technologies.
Iridium Prepaid Services
With Iridium prepaid services, users have a cost-effective communications system
at their fingertips, eliminating the headaches of monthly bills or subscription fees
while providing the reach and accessibility users have come to expect from Iridium.
INTERNATIONAL
Prepaid SIMs are ideal for situations with one SIM and one user. For situations
where there are multiple prepaid users per SIM, USI recommends Crew Calling Service.
Prepaid Voice and Data. In addition to prepaid voice, users now have an
easy to use prepaid data option that requires no system modifications and supports
common existing software-such as the Direct Internet software which is provided with
the Data Kit. Unused minutes carry forward so your minutes can be used in future
months.
Valid for One month or 12 Months or 24 months. With Iridium's Prepaid
SIM, users can choose the global plan that matches their needs. And with each recharge,
the account's unused expiree period are added to that of the recharge voucher. Contact

REGIONAL PREPAID PLANS
Africa Prepaid Plan. Iridium's Africa prepaid plan offers a very competitive
per-minute price. The pricing is simple with no complicated zones. Coverage is available
throughout the continent of Africa, not just the northern portion of Africa. African
vouchers are available with 12 month expiree periods and increments of 300 minutes.

Iridium World Data Services
Using your computer and an Iridium satellite phone, you can connect to the Internet
or a corporate network from virtually anywhere in the world, allowing you to browse
the web, send and receive email and transfer files.
You can configure your computer for two different types of data calls, depending
on your needs: Dial-Up Data or Direct Internet Data.
Now, Iridium Data Services can be run on a computer using the Windows XP Operating
System as well as Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4.0 and 2000.
Dial-Up Data
Dial-Up Data Service provides dial-up connectivity from a PC, through your
Iridium phone to another computer, a corporate network/LAN or an Internet Service
Provider (ISP). This service offers a data rate of up to 2.4 Kbps.
Direct Internet Data
Direct Internet Data Service provides connectivity from a PC, through your
Iridium phone, directly to the Internet through dedicated servers at the Iridium
gateway. This service utilizes transparent compression, resulting in a data rate
of up to 10 Kbps, depending on content. (Graphics and images will result in lower
throughput).

Direct Internet Data Service also offers a feature that manages airtime by seamlessly
connecting and disconnecting you through the Iridium system when no data is being
transferred. This feature, called "spoofing", will reduce airtime charges, improve
the phone's battery life, and seamlessly reconnect to the Iridium system if your
connection is dropped.
To use Direct Internet Data Service, you must connect a PC to a data-capable Iridium
phone, use a SIM card that is provisioned for data, and install the appropriate software
on your computer.
How it Works
The Iridium phone appears as an external modem to your PC. By initiating a connection
through the Direct Internet software, the phone will dial and initiate a connection
with the Iridium gateway through the Iridium satellite constellation. This connection
setup is similar to how a voice call is established, except a data connection is
requested and the switch will route the call to the Direct Internet server. Once
connected to the Direct Internet server and a session has been established, you will
be seamlessly connected to the Internet, as if you were on a LAN.
