Martin van Wyk is a multifaceted individual with a diverse background and array of talents, that caters for every corner of the market, both local & international. Martin van Wyk, is able to think on his feet, have an I can do attitude and is able to rise to any challenge. Martin is responsible for overseeing the management of warehouses, transportation and general logistics throughout Central & Southern Africa, where USI is supplying food and accommodation services in camps. Martin van Wyk has extensive experience in food warehouse management, including stock control, placing of requisitions, weekly preparation of site profit and loss accounts. He manages several transport fleets including Canters, mini buses, trucks, cranes, LDV's, fork-lifts & on-and-off road camera tracking vehicles. He manages day to day logistics including Portable Toilets, Grey Water and refuge collection.
Currently specializing support services for TV commercial, music video's, adventure racing, tented bush camps & extreme event support. With over 8 years continuous operational experience handling difficult, and often unconventional, physical logistics, Martin van Wyk specializes in coordinating location resources, in extreme outdoor environments, and remote locales; ranging from the city outskirts to the deserts in Central & Southern Africa. Managing units from 30 - 5400 people per event.

WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT
- This covers the complete running of stores including
- Stock management placing requisitions to central stores.
- Regular Stock Taking.
- Weekly preparation of site Profit & Loss accounts and other associated site book work
TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT
- This covers control of all Client and contractors site vehicles. Canters, Mini buses, trucks, cranes, LDV's, Fork Lifts, Bowzers/Tankers and any other vehicle assigned to the site.
- It includes ensuring they are in a fit and mechanical state at all times.
- Coordinating vehicle servicing in consultation with the Transport Operations Manager.
- Control of people driving these vehicles.
- Ensuring they are fuelled correctly with the correct type and grade of fuel.
- All other aspects to ensure the fleets are operating efficiently and effectively.
GENERAL LOGISTIC ACTIVITIES
- Honey sucking Portable Toilets.
- Honey sucking Grey Water.
- Portable Water, Non-portable water.
- Fuel both diesel and petrol.
- Refuge collection and disposal (if appropriate).
- MHE Mechanical Handling Equipment (Fork lifts, Cranes etc).
- Laundry Contract or Portable unit.
- Dry storage facilities.
- Cold store facilities

CAMP/LOGISTIC MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
First Contact
- Make contact and confirm location
- Provide advice if necessary
- Confirmation of accommodation type, services and infrastructure
Estimation
- Provide estimate on brief
- Discuss budget and finalize estimation
- Approval of estimation
Site Visit
- Confirm lay of the land
- Check availability and quality of water
- Check whether electricity is required

- Conduct an environmental study if required
Confirm estimation and re-quote if necessary
Project Preparation
